The bending restrictor element consists of two identical half-shells
The polyurethane bending restrictor element consists of two identical half-shells bolted together and mounted around the umbilical cord cable or flexible streamline, which is locked at a predetermined minimum radius to prevent the streamline from collapsing, deforming, or limiting flow.
The half-shell form allows the limiter to be installed on the manufacturing site or ship/platform during production line deployment.
Once the components are locked together, the existing bending moments are transferred into the components, thereby protecting the internal pipes from potentially destructive loads.
