Components of Load Turning Device

Load turning device is equipped with a drive unit, lifting slings, transmission wheels that can be driven by the drive unit and transmit the torque from the transmission wheels to the goods to be turned.

Load turning device help transport or process heavy loads, e.g. cast parts, welded constructions of the like, it's often necessary to change the position of these workpieces in order to be able to carry out processing on the previously inaccessible underside, for example, casting plant often need molds to be turned to mix and pour out the sand, load turning device allow the heavy loads to be turned continuously.

In known load turning devices, either chains or belts are used as transmission media. But they are different in many aspects, including the load capacity, flexibility and damage to the goods.

Chain Designs of Load Turning Device

Load turning device designed with chain slings features interacting with chains in a force-locking manner. In this way, very high torques can be transmitted, so that even extremely heavy loads can be turned with correspondingly powerful drive motors.

However, there is a risk that the goods being turned in the chain loops can be damaged relatively easily.

Belt Load Turning Device

In order to avoid such disadvantages, ropes or belts are often used in load turning device, which adapt better to the circumferential shape of the goods being turned, so that the risk of damage is reduced.

Combined Load Turning Device

Based on the two types load turning device, KFCS has upgraded a new type of load turning device. There are two different designed areas for transmission. The first area interacting with the transmission wheels in a force-locking manner and the second area interacting with the turning material in a friction-locking manner.

The transmission means in the area of the drive wheels of the drive unit are designed, for example, as a chain and in the area of the carrying loop surrounding the goods to be turned, as a belt or rope. This means that very high load moments can be transmitted in the drive area without the transmission means slipping, and the risk of damage to the goods to be turned is significantly reduced.
