Steel Vertebrae polyurethane bending restrictor of Chinese manufacturer
Steel Vertebrae bending restrictor is designed to prevent damage to the umbilical cord control wire, which bears a higher load than its polyurethane counterpart. SVBR components, like polyurethane components, can protect the control line to the minimum bending radius (MBR) specified by the customer.
It includes multiple interlocking elements that are hinged together and locked together when subjected to external loads to form a smooth curved "locking" radius. Select this radius to be equal to or greater than the minimum bend radius of the pipe to which it is applied. Once the components are locked together, the existing bending moments will be transferred into the components and returned to the adjacent rigid connection through the specially designed steel interface structure, thereby protecting the pipes/cables from potentially damaging loads.
